HERE Studio Launches No-Code App Building for Regulated Firms

HERE Enterprise has introduced HERE Studio, a new no-code platform that allows employees in regulated industries to build business applications using natural language. This offering is specifically designed for sectors such as banking, healthcare, and the public sector, where data handling and security are paramount Source.

The platform integrates with an organization's existing artificial intelligence systems, supporting various models including Claude Enterprise, ChatGPT Enterprise, Microsoft Copilot, and Google Gemini, as well as proprietary models. Apps created in HERE Studio operate exclusively with a firm's internal data, APIs, and retrieval-augmented generation systems, ensuring compliance. Each application is generated against an AI contract that defines design standards, data classification, and security policies.

Enabling Secure Internal Application Development

The launch of HERE Studio addresses a critical challenge for regulated industries: how to empower non-technical staff to create productivity tools while maintaining stringent security and governance controls. Many public cloud-based tools have been unsuitable due to concerns over data handling and user permissions.

HERE Studio is deployed within a customer's governed workspace, not the public cloud. This approach allows organizations to control access to the app-building environment and manage permissions for finished applications using existing identity and access management systems, such as Microsoft Entra and Okta.

For example, a sales manager could build a personalized 'start-of-day' dashboard that pulls information from eight different systems, then publish it to their team. Individual team members can further customize their own layouts without altering the core app for others Source.

Integrated Browser-Based Experience

HERE Studio is built directly into HERE's Enterprise Browser, which means newly created apps can access features already present in that environment. These include real-time interoperability between applications, theme awareness, notifications, and layouts customized for specific roles or tasks.

These apps and widgets can be combined into custom dashboards, known as 'Supertabs', which can then be shared across the organization. This allows employees to tailor their workspace to their specific needs without changing the underlying team-wide application. According to Mazy Dar, CEO of HERE, this system allows employees in regulated sectors to "reap the productivity benefits of building their own apps, but within a completely secure, vetted, controlled enterprise environment."

Hyper-Personalized Software Interfaces

HERE emphasizes a shift towards more personalized software interfaces. Jonathan Brierly, Chief Experience Officer at HERE, highlights that rather than relying solely on text prompts, research indicates a strong preference for visual interfaces that consolidate tools and data. He states, "We're entering an era of hyper-personalized software where essential applications like Salesforce, ServiceNow, or Atlassian will be available via a variety of interfaces and the user will choose how they want to experience them."

This perspective suggests a future where employees create custom layouts with widgets that display only the data needed for a specific task, eliminating the need to switch tabs or craft complex queries. The secure enterprise browser environment is seen as the ideal place for this to occur, fostering productivity within a controlled setting.

HERE Studio is currently available in preview to customers of the HERE Enterprise Browser. HERE notes that its browser solution is already utilized by a significant portion of global financial institutions, along with clients in government, defense, and healthcare.
