Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 10, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Technology Tutor Academy ("we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use technologytutor.academy (the "Site"). By using the Site you agree to this policy.
1. Who we are
Technology Tutor Academy is a free online academy for AI and technology, part of The Tutor Academy family of sites. Your Technology Tutor Academy account is independent: it is created and used only on this Site, and it does not sign you in to any other site.
2. Information we collect
- Account information: email, display name, and provider ID when you sign in with email, Google, or Apple.
- Content you create: saved posts, saved prompts, tool run history, quiz results, course progress, and comments.
- Newsletter: email address when you subscribe.
- Usage analytics: anonymous events (page path, event name, timestamp) used to understand what content works.
- Device data: IP, user agent, and referrer, collected by our hosting and analytics providers.
3. How we use your information
- Operate the Site, authenticate you, and save your content.
- Send transactional email (sign-in, account, digest you subscribed to).
- Measure aggregate usage and improve courses, tools, and posts.
- Detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and security incidents.
- Show ads in the mobile app through Google AdMob (see §6).
4. Legal bases (EEA / UK)
Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: contract (to provide the account and Site), legitimate interest (analytics, security, service improvement), and consent (optional analytics on the website, and in-app advertising in the mobile app). You can withdraw website consent at any time via the cookie banner, and app advertising consent through your device settings.
5. Third parties
We share data with service providers strictly to run the Site:
- Supabase — authentication, database, storage.
- Cloudflare / Lovable — hosting and edge runtime.
- Google — sign-in, Search Console, and (mobile app only) AdMob advertising.
- Apple — Sign in with Apple.
- Lovable AI Gateway — powers the interactive tools.
- Firecrawl — fetches cited source articles for the editorial pipeline.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your account data with advertisers.
6. Cookies, website storage, analytics, and tracking technologies
The Application may display content and services provided through our website using an in-app web browser (WebView). The Application and the website may use cookies, local storage, SDKs, pixels, and similar technologies to provide and maintain essential functionality, keep users signed in, remember preferences, analyze usage, and improve the Service.
Necessary storage and cookies may be used without consent where they are required for the Application or website to function, including authentication, maintaining user sessions, security, and essential preferences.
Optional analytics technologies may be used to help us understand how users interact with our content and which lessons or features are useful. Where consent is required, we will ask for the user's consent before enabling optional analytics technologies. Users may choose to accept or reject optional analytics through the cookie/consent mechanism provided within the Application or website.
We do not use advertising cookies on our website for serving advertisements — the website displays no advertising. However, the Application displays advertisements through third-party advertising providers, such as Google AdMob. These advertising providers may collect and process information such as device information, advertising identifiers, IP address, approximate location, and information about interactions with advertisements, subject to their own privacy policies and the user's privacy choices.
Where Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework applies, the Application will request the user's permission before accessing information for tracking purposes as defined by Apple. If the user does not grant tracking permission, the Application will respect that choice and will not use the information for tracking purposes that require such permission.
Users may purchase an available subscription to remove advertisements from the Application. The subscription does not necessarily disable the essential cookies or storage required for the Application or website to function.
For more information about how third-party advertising and analytics providers process information, users should review the privacy policies of those providers.
7. Third-party advertising — Google AdMob
The Application may use Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob and its associated services may collect information from the Application, including device and advertising information, to provide, deliver, measure, and improve advertising services.
Depending on the user's choices, applicable laws, and Apple's permission requirements, advertising may be personalized or non-personalized. Where required by Apple, the Application will request permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework before performing tracking.
Users who purchase an applicable subscription may have advertisements removed from the Application.
For more information about Google's handling of information, please refer to Google's applicable privacy documentation at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
You can limit ad personalization on your device: on iOS via Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking and Apple Advertising; on Android via Settings → Privacy → Ads, where you can reset or delete your advertising ID.
8. Data retention
Account and content data is kept while your account is active. If you delete your account (Profile → Danger Zone), we delete your account and its associated content. Anonymous analytics events may be retained in aggregate. Backups are rotated on our providers' standard schedules.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to object to certain uses. You can delete your account yourself at any time in Profile → Danger Zone, which deletes your account and its associated content, and you can manage your saved data from your account settings. You can also control ad personalization for the mobile app through your device's advertising settings (see §6 and §7).
10. Children
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that a child has provided us data, we will delete it.
11. International transfers
Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, they rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance.
13. Requests
Account and data requests are handled in-app from your account settings, where you can review, export, and delete your data.
